For the third straight year, Greater Chesapeake Hand to Shoulder physicians and employees have adopted Angels through the Salvation Army of Central Maryland. The Salvation Army Angel Tree program is a Christmas assistance program that provides new clothing and toys to thousands of children ages 0-12 each year.

Our staff adopted 50 angels, as well as several stockings and boxes of new toys for forgotten angels.

In November, Greater Chesapeake Hand to Shoulder participated in the Kennedy Krieger Institute Festival of Trees at Timonium Fairgrounds by sponsoring and decorating 4 trees this year. This three-day event features more than 700 trees, wreaths, and gingerbread houses, benefiting the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, which specializes in the care of children. This year's event raised $1.2 million.

Our staff split into teams to brainstorm and create each tree. Tree themes for 2017 were Attitude of Gratitude, A Tree for All Seasons, Happy Feet, and A Sweet Treat. The Happy Feet tree won 2nd place for "Most Imaginative Theme."
