Ryan M. Zimmerman, M.D., F.A.A.O.S.
Fellowship-Trained, Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
Ryan M. Zimmerman, M.D., F.A.A.O.S., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in conditions of the hand, wrist, shoulder and elbow in adults and children. He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Harvard.
In Boston, Dr. Zimmerman served as the Chief Orthopedic Resident at Massachusetts General Hospital and subsequently completed a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the Curtis National Hand Center at Union Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Zimmerman’s interests include complex conditions of the hand, wrist, shoulder, and elbow in adults and children. He has numerous publications in renowned scientific journals and has spoken on a variety of topics at national and international meetings.
Dr. Zimmerman is the recipient of numerous awards, including:

- New England Orthopedic Society Kilfoye Award
- H.V.P. Wilson Award
Dr. Zimmerman is actively involved in the teaching of residents and fellows and conducts clinical and biomechanical research projects. Dr. Zimmerman is distinguished as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and as an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
