“A Glove Story” Gallery Now Complete
Greater Chesapeake Hand Specialists (GCHS), P.A., in partnership with Art with a Heart, Inc. (AWAH), a non-profit community organization which enhances the lives of people in need through visual art, recently unveiled “A Glove Story” Gallery, located in the waiting room area at GCHS’s main office, located at 1400 Front Street in Lutherville.

This project entailed the transformation of ten gloves and mittens into one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork. Embellished with various artistic mediums, the imaginative designs each have unique personalities and special names, including: The Boxer, Caught Red Handed, Fancy Hand Glove, Garden Glove, Glove Compartment, Hand Mirror, Handy Man, Handwich, High Five! and Second Hand Rose.

“Thanks to Art with a Heart, these incredibly special pieces of art truly enhance our waiting area and are tremendous conversation pieces,” said Patricia Levin, administrator for GCHS. “This project was initiated because we are committed to providing great care for our patients, and to broaden our scope by helping Art with a Heart in its efforts to better the community.”

“We thank Greater Chesapeake Hand Specialists for supporting and providing the opportunity to raise awareness among doctors, staff and patients about Art with a Heart's work in underserved communities,” said Randi Alper Pupkin, AWAH's founder and executive director. “Art with a Heart is actively working to fill the need for engaging visual art programming in Baltimore and we are grateful to have supportive partners in this endeavor.”

New Logo Unveiling
Greater Chesapeake Hand Specialists
unveiled its new logo in conjunction with the initiation of practice-wide re-branding efforts. "A great new look - and an even greater reach" is the overall theme of the program. In addition to the new logo, GCHS re-designed its website and collateral materials.

"The creation of our new logo presents the opportunity for us to let everyone know that we diagnose and treat conditions relating to hand, wrist , elbow and shoulder," explained Dr. Peter Innis. "Because our name focuses primarily on the hand, we felt a change was needed to more clearly communicate the depth and breadth of our team. Our intent is to reach out to our many audiences - patients, other physicians and primary care providers and Workers Compensation community -- to showcase our new branding initiatives."

"Our previous logo served us well for more than twenty years but the time was perfect for a new signature image. After many months of thinking, research and contemplation, we believe we have created a simple, yet powerful communication vehicle that serves our various uses," Dr. Innis added.

"A Glove Story" & Art with a Heart
Greater Chesapeake Hand Specialists
has formed a partnership with Art with a Heart, Inc.  ( AWAH ), a non-profit community organization which enhances the lives of people in need through visual art.

AWAH volunteers completed A Glove Story, transforming gloves and mittens into one-of-a-kind artwork for display at GCHS' main office and Surgicenter in Lutherville. Embellished with various artistic mediums, the imaginative designs each have unique personalities and special names, including: The Boxer, Caught Red Handed, Fancy Hand Glove, Garden Glove, Glove Compartment, Hand Mirror, Handy Man, High Five! and Second Hand.

GCHS also made a financial contribution to AWAH to directly subsidize teachers' salaries and has begun supporting the non-profit through volunteer efforts. Several GCHS staff members worked on a large scale mosaic project that ART with a Heart created in collaboration with Airs/Empire Homes. The 20' x 10' mosaic mural was installed in Restoration Gardens.
